The Honolulu Planning Commission is meeting this morning to discuss the future of the Waimanalo Gulch Landfill.

The city wants to extend the permits beyond July 2012, but some area residents — the Ko Olina Community Association and state Sen. Maile Shimabukuro among them — are opposing that.
