In response to a recent Civil Beat survey, congressional hopeful Mufi Hannemann said that he believes “marriage is between a man and a woman.”

The former Honolulu mayor went on to say that President Barack Obama shares his opposition to same-sex marriage. Civil Beat decided to fact check that claim.
