Welcome back, Congress! Oh, and by the way, you’re even more unpopular than you were when you hit your lowest approval rating back in October!

That’s the message from a new poll, issued jointly by The Washington Post and ABC News. Just 13 percent of Americans who responded to the poll approve of the job that Congress is doing. 

Congressional Democrats are faring slightly better, whereas Republicans remain unpopular, according to the poll. That’s good news for Hawaii delegates, as all four are Democrats. Besides, last summer, one poll showed Sen. Daniel Inouye is more popular than God. Seriously.

Still, the overall picture isn’t pretty:

The 1,000-person telephone poll was conducted between Jan. 12 and Jan. 15, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points. Respondents were reached on land lines and cell phones. Check out the complete poll results.
