It’s been a long time coming for IC Sunshine, a company based out of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., that has been hoping to build a five-megawatt photovoltaic installation on Oahu.

The company has finally gotten the green light, with the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission approving a contract between the solar company and Hawaiian Electric Co., according to documents made public today.

The solar farm will be located on a 20-acre parcel in Oahu’s Campbell Industrial Park.
