Pacific Business News reports that AECOM Technical Services is planning to add staff after it was hired to design a segment of the rail line for about $40 million.
Here’s an excerpt:
The Los Angeles-based company, with offices in Honolulu, got a $38.8 million contract earlier this month to do design work on the portion of the project between Aloha Stadium and Honolulu International Airport. The contract means the company probably will have to expand its offices here and add more jobs, AECOM officials said.
“We have been looking for additional space for a while,” said Rudy Mina, AECOM vice president and district manager for the Pacific. “[The rail contract] is one of the reasons … and we are looking to add positions here in Hawaii.”
