John Roco has announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in the GOP primary, pitting him against Linda Lingle and John Carroll.

Roco — here’s his website — says in an email that he is “a counselor on Oahu” and “a sometime church pianist and cantor for Sunday mass and founder of ‘Saint Damien Advocates’ — a nonprofit defending Catholic works from closure of adoptive and foster care services due to new gay non-discrimination laws.”

Roco finished second, behind Cam Cavasso, in the 2010 Senate GOP primary; Cavasso was crushed in the general by incumbent Dan Inouye
