Sen. Michelle Kidani announced at today’s Race to the Top briefing that the Senate has introduced its “flagship CIP bill” that will address the maintenance backlog for all state facilities.
“It will include a huge amount for the Department of Education,” she says. “It’s specifically meant to deal with the backlog.”
The school district’s repair and maintenance backlog amounts to about $382 million this year, according to budget briefing materials.
The superintendent and deputy thank Kidani.
