hawaii-politics:

The 3,000-member State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers today placed their support behind Republican Linda Lingle in her bid for the U.S. Senate.

SHOPO President Tenari Maafala said Lingle was the best candidate to fight for law enforcement issues “in the White House.” He said Democrats Ed Case and Mazie Hirono did not seek SHOPO’s endorsement.

Lingle said she would fight for Social Security and Medicare rights for people current receiving those entitlements but warned that such entitlements were not fully sustainable in the long run.
