Sierra Club Unleashes “Forces for Good”

The Sierra Club is working to get the public involved in important legislation this session. 

On Saturday it will host its second annual “Forces for Good Symposium” at the Hawaii State Capitol from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event is open to the public.

Here’s the agenda:

  • Agriculture and Food: What we are doing to ignite Hawai‘i’s Farming Renaissance and boost our Food self-sufficiency
  • Energy: What we are doing to move towards the state goal of 70% Clean Energy by 2030
  • Smart Growth: What we are doing to STOP suburban sprawl and revitalize the city
  • Opala: What we are doing to make Hawai‘i the FIRST STATE in the nation to significantly cut use of plastic shopping bags that are fouling our oceans
  • Watersheds: What we are doing to PROTECT and revive our vital watersheds
  • Good Governance: What we are doing to make our government more Transparent and Open
  • Lobbying skills: What YOU can do to influence your representatives to support Good Legislation
