Reporters in the White House press pool didn’t get much from President Barack Obama during a brief walk from the Oval Office to the Palm Room Tuesday afternoon.

Obama took the stroll for TV cameras who will use the footage ahead of Tuesday night’s State of the Union address. According to a pool reports, Obama gave brief answers to shouted questions.

Is the speech finished? There “may be a few touch-ups,” the president said.

Is he pleased with how it turned out? “Not bad,” Obama reportedly replied with a grin.

Obama ignored a question about whether he believes former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney should pay more in taxes. As this Washington Post graphic shows, Obama paid an effective tax rate of 26 percent on $1.8 million in income in 2010, whereas Romney paid 13.9 percent on $21.7 million.
