Charter schools were intended to be models for educational success. In theory, the successful techniques and programs piloted first in charter schools would then be used in traditional public schools to help them improve and thrive.

But we rarely see that actually happen. The successful programs we see in charters usually stay there and never make their way back into “the system.” Take heart, though.
