The Best Stories Almost Always Break Late
We’ve been eagerly awaiting details of the agreement Hawaii teachers struck with the state last Friday.
Of course, they were posted to the union’s website late on a Wednesday evening.
Good thing I called that (witnesses in the Civil Beat newsroom can attest!). The Hawaii State Teachers Association has a tendency to break its biggest news late in the day/evening.
The agreement would reverse their 5 percent pay cut in 2013, but teachers will still be paying 50 percent of their health care costs. And then there’s the matter of those Race to the Top reforms…
