The Hawaii State Judiciary is accepting applications for court interpreters, in advance of orientation workshops to be held on each of the major islands in February and March.

In addition to American Sign Language, the judiciary is in strong need of those who can interpret in Chuukese, Ilokano, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Marshallese, Japanese, Tagalog, Pohnpeian, Tongan, Samoan, Mandarin, Cantonese and Laotian.

Depending on their performance on written and oral exams, court interpreters are paid between $25 to $55 per hour with a two-hour minimum.
