She said she would do it, and now she has.

Ann Kobayashi on Tuesday introduced a resolution that would ask voters to move the Board of Water Supply back under city control.

We went in depth about the idea earlier this month, and looked into the history of the semi-autonomous board. Civil Beat also noted that the rail authority’s semi-autonomy was based on the Water Board.

It seems likely the resolution will advance.

Chair Ernie Martin told us for our original story that he was considering introducing such a resolution himself. and a total of six Honolulu City Council members signed on to Kobayashi’s draft despite our question about whether members can circulate proposals before introduction.
