Caldwell, Cayetano, Others Pull Papers

The state’s Office of Elections has just posted its weekly candidate report. Some new names, and some expected ones, are on the list for Honolulu.

Both Kirk Caldwell and Ben Cayetano have pulled nomination papers to run for mayor, but neither have yet filed. Cayetano pulled Monday and Caldwell today. Keith Kaneshiro pulled papers to run for re-election as prosecutor Wednesday.

Tom Berg remains the only Honolulu City Council candidate to file, but others have pulled:

  • Efrain De La Cruz (District 1)
  • Melvin Kahele (District 1)
  • James Manaku (District 1)
  • Alex Santiago (District 1)
  • Vaiuli Sua (District 9)
