Check out Civil Beat’s story today on the battle in the Legislature over the controversial Public Land Development Corporation. A lot of people think the PLDC has way too much power; it’s main cheerleader, Sen. Donovan Dela Cruz says it needs even more authority.

And yet the senator seems a little bit chicken when it comes to openly supporting his pet project in the face of opposition. CB scribe Sophie Cocke asked him right before the session started if he knew of any bills about the PLDC. Donovan said he didn’t and that he wasn’t introducing any. Then poof, a few days later, he introduced five bills.
