You know that we at Civil Beat are big fans of the Fact Check format, so I enjoyed blogger Ian Lind‘s piece this morning evaluating one of Mayor Peter Carlisle‘s State of the City claims.

In his speech, Carlisle said the rail project would allow other rural areas of the island to remain rural. Lind doesn’t buy that, since Carlisle’s administration has supported development plans in places like Laie, not just along the transit line.

In practice, the Carlisle administration seems to be bent on delivering both types of development. Build the rail, pave the country.
