The Department of Parks and Recreation will implement an online camping permit reservation system one month from today, on March 9.

The city announced Thursday that the new system will allow users to apply online for individual campsites in the 17 city parks that allow camping.

Starting March 9, permits will no longer be issued at satellite city halls. They’ll still be available at DPR’s Fasi Municipal Building headquarters.

“Online camping permits offer flexibility, increase efficiency and reduce the need to stand in line for camping permits,” Parks and Recreation Director Gary Cabato said in the press release.
