Laupahoehoe community members in Hilo are really unhappy with the Hawaii State Board of Education’s decision to go ahead and reopen Laupahoehoe High and Elementary School as a charter this coming fall.

It follows on the heels of the resignations of three Hawaii Charter School Review Panel members, who also were protesting the board’s decision to overturn the panel’s earlier decision to delay the conversion of the school into a charter.
