In addition to voting on an omnibus bill to reform the charter school system, the Senate Education Committee will tackle several bills related to school facilities today.

A few of them are proposals to issue special purpose revenue bonds to various public, private and public charter schools to help with capital improvements.

One bill would give charter schools first dibs on vacated public school property.

Another would repeal the educational facilities improvement special fund and transfer its remaining its balance into the general fund.
