The federal government is giving Hawaii more than $7 million to help cover costs from November’s APEC conference, Sen. Daniel Inouye announced on Thursday.

I am very proud of the extraordinary effort put forth by the city, the state, and our partners in the federal government,” Inouye said in a statement. “None of that work would have been possible without the community’s commitment to sharing our Aloha spirit with the world.”

The money comes from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
