Just got off the phone with Federal Transit Administration Chief Peter Rogoff and U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, and they had some interesting things to say about the Honolulu rail project.

They’re watching the Honolulu mayor’s race closely, and a Ben Cayetano victory really could affect the decision of the federal government whether to fund the project.
