The media advisory didn’t include a name, but Kirk Caldwell is the likely selection.
What makes me so confident? In his press conference rebuttal to the State of the City address Thursday, Caldwell said Peter Carlisle should have thanked police and firefighters for their service during APEC in November.
Caldwell said Carlisle was being a politician, not a mayor, because he snubbed organizations that haven’t supported his re-election efforts. SHOPO endorsed Caldwell in 2010 and again this year. The HFFA also endorsed Caldwell against Carlisle in 2010.
Was Caldwell’s reference to firefighters a tip of his hand for today? I’ll let you know when the group formally names its endorsee.
