Gabbard’s ‘Leap Day’ Fundraising Plea

Honolulu City Council member Tulsi Gabbard has a fundraising request that can only come once every four years: She’s asking supporters to donate to her congressional campaign so that she can “leap” past opponents.

In honor of the date — Feb. 29 — she is hoping to raise $2,900 on Wednesday. Gabbard wrote that she hopes the “extra day” that leap year provides will give her a leg up against the competition.
