President Barack Obama‘s new approach to increasing the U.S. military presence in Guam could affect Hawaii, Bloomberg News reports.
Instead of spending some $21 billion to add to the military there, Obama now wants to relocate Marines from elsewhere in the region — possibly some from Hawaii, according to Bloomberg.
The administration also plans to send 4,500 Japan-stationed Marines to Guam, as well as 4,000 Marines who would otherwise be in Australia.
