The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation’s board of directors just announced that former Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority manager Daniel Grabauskas is the sole finalist to become the new HART chief.

The board will meet to take public testimony March 1. If Grabauskas is confirmed, he’ll start his job in mid-April, according to a press release.

Interim chief Toru Hamayasu will stay on until Grabauskas arrives, and will be retained in a “senior leadership position” thereafter.
