Belatti may be forced into a district that would pit her against fellow Democrat Scott Saiki.

Is she going to run?

“I don’t know!” she said. 

Some in the audience are grumbling that the proposed new district lines have the taint of politics. Others say they hope the Reapportionment Commission will make a few adjustments to the maps to preserve distinct neighborhoods.
