Rep. Mazie Hirono is airing the first television ad in her U.S. Senate campaign. The 30-second ad focuses on Hirono as offering an alternative to “the Bush policies that have left America deep in debt.”

“There’s a real choice in this election that voters need to know about,” said Betsy Lin, Hirono’s campaign manager, in a statement. ”Mazie Hirono is the only candidate who understands the challenges Hawaii’s families are facing and the frustration they have with a huge deficit that was caused in part by the trillion dollar Iraq War and tax cuts for the wealthiest among.”
