Another Honolulu police is in the news for hitting a pedestrian.

HPD said one of its own veteran officers was arrested after a pedestrian was hit in Honolulu Saturday morning.

Sgt. Andrew Tsukano, 57, was driving his personal vehicle at around 2:00 a.m. Saturday when he struck a man crossing South Beretania Street near Victoria Street, KITV reports.

Tsukano was not on duty at the time. He was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving and negligent injury. KITV reports that police arrest logs show he refused a sobriety test on scene.

Last year, another officer — Boyd Kamikawa — was arrested and sentenced to 30 days in prison after hitting an office while driving drunk. Check out KITV for more on the story.
