Rep. Colleen Hanabusa solidly surpassed Republican opponent Charles Djou in fundraising last quarter — but Djou got more money from individual donors, while Hanabusa got a bigger boost from special-interest groups.
Of the $137,176 that Hanabusa raised, $58,415 came from individuals. The majority of the money she received — $78,753, or 57 percent — came from political action committees.
Of the $81,406 that Djou received, $63,306 came from individual donors. PACs gave Djou $18,100, about 22 percent of his fundraising haul last quarter.
