Just last week, Vice Speaker Joey Manahan held a fundraiser, ostensibly to support his re-election to District 29 of the Hawaii House of Representatives.

Now Manahan’s scheduled another fundraiser. This one’s for a new job: Honolulu City Council District 7.

The old one, held Feb. 2 at Duc’s Bistro in Chinatown for $500 a head, ended with Manahan telling supporters he’d decided to run for the council seat being vacated by the term-limited Romy Cachola. (Cachola is “99 percent” sure he’ll run for House, likely Manahan’s empty seat.)

The new one, with a suggested donation of $100 per person, is scheduled for Feb. 21 at “Eats Restaurant,” according to the filing. That might be EATHonolulu, a cafe on Nimitz Highway.
