This is where technology, resource conservation and education converge:

Mid-Pacific Institute will provide 1,650 iPad3s to students and teachers in grades K-12 next year, making it the first school in Hawaii to fully integrate the iPad3 into its curriculum, according to a press release.

Mid-Pac already uses iPad2s in language, physical education and social studies classes and they are available in carts that shuttle between classes. The current iPads have 5,400 educational apps, which can help supplement textbook learning or serve as their substitutes.

The program is launching to the tune of $1.5 million, which will come of tuition and other fees.

Students K-2 will store their iPads on carts at school, while older students will be able to take theirs home.
