President Barack Obama is on Friday unveiling details of a $1 billion initiative to get 20,000 veterans back to work. The unemployment rate for post-9/11 military veterans was at 13.1 percent in December.
A June 2011 Senate report found that the unemployment rate among new veterans in Hawaii was 6.0 percent in 2010, slightly lower than the statewide unemployment rate. But that doesn’t mean Hawaii veterans have it easy.
