Expanding broadband capacity is a big deal for the Abercrombie administration, and there are several bills designed to help do just that this session.

The governor — or someone for him — has now tweeted (@neilabercrombie, 10,165 followers) out the following:

Take the speed test & help Hawaii’s Broadband Initiative to provide fast, affordable Internet for all of Hawaii!

There’s a link to the test. I took it, and here’s what I learned: 

  • DOWNLOAD SPEED: 8.02 Mbps
  • UPLOAD SPEED: 939.00 Kbps
