After several dismal quarterly reports, the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization (UHERO) says it’s feeling “a bit more optimistic” about 2012.

“2011 brought a few positives in the form of Oahu construction stabilization and a late-year rebound of visitors from earlier lows,” UHERO wrote in a report released Friday. “All in all, we are cautiously optimistic that 2012 will be a better year in the Islands as we begin to transition to a more satisfactory growth path.”
