Remember Kim Coco Iwamoto? The former Board of Education member just snagged a gubernatorial appointment as commissioner to the Civil Rights Commission.

She was a strong advocate for civil rights while on the ed board.

Gov. Neil Abercrombie has appointed more than 120 individuals to 30 boards and commissions.

These appointments are subject to Senate confirmation, among them:

Lorraine Akiba as commissioner to the Public Utilities Commission

 Kim Coco Iwamoto as commissioner to the Civil Rights Commission

 Peter Ho as commissioner to the Tax Review Commission

Ted Yamamura as commissioner to the Water Resource Management Commission
