Honolulu mayoral hopeful Ben Cayetano has called a 1:30 p.m. press conference at his campaign headquarters near the airport to reveal emails by Federal Transit Administration officials “which confirm our charge that the City engaged in ‘public manipulation’ in promoting the Rail Project.”
The emails, Cayetano’s campaign says, are part of the administrative record provided to rail plaintiffs by the city. Cayetano’s one of those plaintiffs, and today’s revelation shows how the lawsuit and campaign are tied together.
Walter Heen, one of Cayetano’s co-plaintiffs and one of the co-chairs of the campaign, will also discuss the administrative record and a lack of transparency from the city.
