Hawaii is getting $35 million in federal funding to construct a new Hawaii Army National Guard building, and renovate two existing buildings, Gov. Neil Abercrombie announced on Friday.
The new maintenance building in Kalaeloa will move maintenance operations away from Diamond Head. Abercrombie’s office said the shift, which is expected to be complete in fall 2013, will reduce traffic congestion.
