Group Wants Church Off State Property

Hawaii Citizens for the Separation of State and Church has urged the Hawaii Public Housing Authority to remove what it says is a Christian church from state property.

The church, according to HCSSC, is located at 1531 Linapuni Street immediately adjacent to Kuhio Park Tower (Mauka).

The Solid Rock Assembly of God (Solid Rock) church has occupied the former Kuhio Park Terrace (KPT) Recreation Center for as many as 15 years without paying any rent or utilities. …

HCSSC has demanded that the HPHA immediately evict the Solid Rock church from State property and require the church to reimburse taxpayers for 100% of back rent, as well as all utilities and other costs to the State with interest.
