Hawaii is getting nearly $575,000 in historic preservation grants, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced on Wednesday.

The money comes from the Historic Preservation Fund, and represents a portion of nearly $47 million that is being divvied up across the nation. The fund is supported by revenue from federal oil leases, which means taxpayers are not footing the bill for these grants, according to a statement by the Department of the Interior.

Other funding that’s flowing into the Pacific region as part of these historic preservation grants include more than $412,000 for the Federated States of Micronesia; more than $410,000 for the Northern Mariana Islands; more than $409,000 for Guam; and nearly $239,000 for Palau.
