It’s hard to build up a beach when big waves just keep pulling the sand back again.
A South shore swell expected to hit Oahu today is causing another delay in the Waikiki Beach sand replenishment project. The project was originally supposed to be pau by this weekend. But state officials had to switch gears after their original plan to blow sand onto the beach through a pipe wouldn’t get the job done fast enough.
