  • HPD has 313 funded vacant positions. That includes 109 vacancies for uniformed officers. Kealoha said each of Oahu’s eight districts are on average 90-percent staffed by officers.
  • The department has 279 officers who are eligible to retire today
  • HPD is asking for $3.4 million for vehicles, including 65 new sedans and a dozen motorcycles.
  • HPD’s proposed CIP budget includes $5.6 million to build a new Waianae sub-station. Construction is expected to start in August.
