Today (Tuesday) is a critical deadline for bills at the Hawaii Legislature, with a Thursday crossover deadline looming.

If a bill doesn’t pass third reading this week to cross over from one chamber to the other, it’s very likely dead.

The House begins deliberations at 9 a.m. (televised on Olelo Channel 49 and live to the neighbor islands) while the Senate starts at 9:30 a.m. (Channel 53 but tape-delayed to the NI’s).

The Senate has requested eight hours of broadcast time, so that means they should wrap things up no later than mid-afternoon. The House? They’ve booked 13 hours.

Let the deliberations begin!
