An early morning earthquake off the Kona coast shook some Big Island residents out of bed, but did not trigger a tsunami.

The 3.7 magnitude quake struck just after midnight about 27 miles west of Kona, Hawaii News Now reports. A second and smaller 2.0 earthquake was also reported at about 2 a.m.
