Michael Champley, an interim appointee to the Public Utilities Commission, was unanimously approved for a full term by Senate Commerce and Consumer Affairs. His nomination now goes to the full Senate for a final vote.

Champley received glowing praise from fellow PUC commissioners Mina Morita and John Cole, as we as from past PUC commissioner Carlito Caliboso.

Asked about recent media reports that Champley’s nomination may have been in trouble, Champley said things were “blown way out of proportion.”
