Hundreds of kupuna wearing orange T-shirts held a peaceful rally in the Capitol Rotunda Thursday (March 1) to get the attention of legislators and the governor.
The occasion was the seventh-annual March for Meals. Lanakila Meals on Wheels spearheaded the event, designed to raise awareness of the need to fund Kupuna Care and combat senior hunger.
“There’s a growing waiting list,” said director Lyn Moku. “We get 30 to 40 new requests for meals each month.”
