When DC808 saw the list of attendees that Hanabusa’s spokeswoman provided, we couldn’t help but notice that five of them are Honolulu City Council members and three are Maui County Council members. State open government laws ban more than two members of the same board from discussing official business without giving the public advanced notice.
Here’s the list:
• Tim Bynam, Kauai County Council Member
• Brittany Smart, Hawaii County Council Member
• Ikaika Anderson, Honolulu City Council Member
• Stanley Chang, Honolulu City Council Member
• Nestor Garcia, Honolulu City Council Member
• Romy Cachola, Honolulu City Council Member
• Breene Harimoto, Honolulu City Council Member
• Joseph Pontanilla, Maui County Council Member
• Michael Victorino, Maui County Council Member
• Don Couch, Maui County Council Member
But it appears not everyone on the list met with Hanabusa today.
Garcia told DC808 in an email that he “skipped” the meeting, and that “only Councilmembers Chang and Harimoto were there for Honolulu.”
Here’s a photo of the meeting, provided by Hanabusa spokeswoman Ashley Nagaoka Boylan (also in the photo are Kekoa McClellan, who works in Chang’s office, and David Ching, who works in the Maui managing director’s office).
