A bill that would remove telecommunications from the workload of the Public Utilities Commission passed the Senate Ways and Means Committee on Monday.
House Bill 2524 would make either DBEDT or DCCA responsible for regulating telecom companies. Part of the governor’s package of legislation this session, the bill could allow the PUC to concentrate more on energy.
