As expected, the Honolulu City Council has just wrapped up its public hearing on the resolution that would end the Board of Water Supply‘s semi-autonomy and reel it back in under administrative and council control.
The vote was 8-0 (Breene Harimoto is out sick today) but there were a few “with reservations.” New water manager Ernie Lau continued to ask for a chance to show what he can do.
The bill goes back to committee, and even if the full council approves the measure, it would still be up to voters to decide.
