Me: But I emailed it to you earlier today per your request.
DOE: Yeah, I’ve got it in front of me now. Thanks for sending it.
Me: And?
DOE: Well, we can’t comment on the subject document because we are not in receipt of it.
Me: But you just told me you have the copy I sent you.
DOE: Well, it’s dated today.
Me: And?
DOE: Well, we haven’t received it yet from the office in which it originated.
Me: And?
DOE: So… we can’t comment on it.
Me: Really?
This was essentially the conversation I had yesterday with a DOE spokesperson. All I really wanted to know at that time was what the Department of Education thought about the State Auditor’s one-page letter identifying the objectives for its management audit of school bus transportation services.
